This winter the new trend is offseason weddings. These are ceremonies and receptions held well after the peak months of the wedding season in spring and summer. This has many advantages. For one, brides will be able to choose from a wider selection of indoor venues for cheaper prices. Many of the other decorations and wedding planning materials will also be much more affordable. They have the added advantage of the beauty of the major holiday season as a backdrop. Many people would be quick to point out the downside such as a smaller selection of flowers and no outdoor locations. However these are almost inconsequential. The best part of a winter themed wedding are the favors. When the choices are well thought out it can be a second Christmas for guests. Here are some great ideas to help you choose items and favors for your winter wedding favors.
Place card holders are normally the items that help guide attendees to their seating at the reception that occurs after you exchange vows with your future husband. However, they can also be great wedding favors. A great suggestion is to make the wedding favors pop with motifs of winter or holiday flowers such as Poinsettias. You can use placecards that invoke the imagery of winter with bucolic winter seasons or beautiful snowflake designs. A well designed place card holder can acts as an additional guest gift along with the wedding favors that you are already giving out.
Candles are great winter guest gifts. They not only provide light and warmth but they can also be personalized and customized to give your guests something amazing and extraordinary. A perfect example is snowflake gel candles. These items are made of a special clear gel wax which will refract candle light in amazing ways. In addition the center of each candle has a beautiful snowflake suspending looking like a trued snow flake caught in the moment of its descent through the skies.
Wine bottle sets are another great option. Everyone needs utensils to open and seal bottles of wine on important occasions. Theme wine bottle sets are great because they are a combination of functionality and design. A great example is the snowflake bottle openers and bottle stoppers. They will not only do their assigned tasks admirably, but also make a great conversation and give your guests in future settings to reminisce over your wonderful winter wedding.
Edible favors are another great way to go. The winter season has a variety of special sweets and foods that your guests will be sure to enjoy. For example you can give themed candies and chocolates as a sweet accent on your special day. You can also go with mixes of traditional and popular winter hot drinks such as tea, coffee, hot cocoa and even apple cider. These are great items to give because they provide something that teases the senses with their smell and taste. They can also be personalized whether it is the shape of a cookie or the design of the packet or teabag.
Finally, there are spa gifts. These are simple and affordable items that are reproductions of popular items that guest will normally enjoy at a spa. One great example are snow cone bath salts. They are quite cost friendly and still can help make bath time a relaxing and soothing moment for your guests.

One of the ways that a bride tries to set her wedding apart from all the rest is by having one of a kind favors. If you are such a bride, here are some great suggestions to help you get started.
A great gift is a fall leaf bottle stopper these are not only useful but will be great decorations for your wine bottles while you are using them. Another great option is shot glasses. These are great because the can be customized with any fall motif you want. They are also great for guests who collect unique shot glasses. You can not only have autumn themed images on them, you can also have the date of your wedding inscribed on them. They are another example of a useful item that can either be displayed or used by your guests when they have people coming to visit.
Another great item is a fall leaf bookmark they have understated elegance and at the same time, will help you keep your page in a favorite book. This is definitely an item that fall under the everyday use category. Also make sure to pair with something else such as a book light. You can also pair it with stationary such as fall themed notebook and pen. Give your guests something to record their own thoughts and impressions with that will include memories of your nuptials.
An interesting autumn favor is the plantable place cards. They function as part of your reception dcor helping guest find the way to their tables. When the reception is over the can take them home and plant them in their garden. They are a great item for the bride seeking to promote nature in their fall themed nuptials. If this is your focus you can give them out in tandem with a call for donations to your favorite environmental charity or organization. This way you not only have a unique gift item, you also have a way to share your values.
A traditional autumn favor is candles. They have practical uses as emergency lighting, or simply a mood enhancer for a special occasion. There are also numerous options to choose from. From the moment you got engaged, thoughts of your wedding have filled your head. It is supposed to be a magical event that you and your guest will always remember. To do that, it can’t just be a cookie-cutter wedding; you want something that all your own. Of course there are the wedding favors. Making sure you have unique wedding favors is a start. There is no magic formula for that unique wedding, but if you see some of the things other people have done you might get some ideas.
One very sweet, unique idea came to this one couple. The enclosed a few dried and pressed red rose pedals with the invitations they sent out. They also enclosed a note to bring the pedals with them to the ceremony. There they were added with white rose pedals and given to the flower girl. Before the bride walked down the isle there was a carpet of pedals from friends and family. Everyone had their own special part in the ceremony.
The ceremony it’s self really lends it’s self to so many ways to be creative and to make your wedding beautiful and unique. One interesting one was in a wedding of an Irish American family. Along with the tuxedo the groom and grooms men for a sash of their family clan. It took a little searching on the internet and special ordering but the end result was moving. Another beautiful idea was for a night time wedding. It was kept in low light after everyone was seated. As the bride’s maids and groom’s men marched down the aisle each of them carried a pair of ornate lanterns. At what served as the alter the lanterns were placed (and turned up) and the entire ceremony was conducted by lantern light. It cast a nice romantic glow as they exchanged vows. Others that have had an outside wedding have shied away from the traditional layout with the bride and groom at the front of rows of chairs. Instead, they opted for a round dais or alter in the center of rings of chairs. The bride and groom would enter from opposite sides, passing under rose covered arbors to meet in the center. It gave the ceremony a very intimate feel.
Still others have tried to take that intimate feel to the reception. One idea was to light it almost entirely by candle light. To get the effect they wanted they placed round mirrors on the tables with a candle in a glass vase in the center. From the ceiling they hung fixtures with multifaceted reflective surfaces. It gave the feeling of dancing under twinkling stars. If you wanted to get really nutty you could turn down the thermostat and use just a little dry ice to give it a “A Mid Summer’s Night” sort of feel. It would look very magical and Edwardian.
You could go very practical. Kids get bored at receptions and some parents just stop long enough to see the cutting of the cake. Try renting a few kid-sized tables and top it with crayons and coloring books. Sure, the parents won’t be closing down the reception but it can buy the parents some time to enjoy the event before the kids get too bored
There are all sorts of things you can do that your planner might not think of. It’s your day and you can make it your own.

As you plan your wedding this autumn one of the things you need to think about is wedding favors. These are thank you gifts you give to guests to thank them for coming to your wedding. It is important to pick something innovative, unique, and original. This is where it is important to look to your theme for your inspiration. The benefit of tying the theme of your wedding to your favors is that it emphasizes the meaning behind your wedding. One interesting theme is the wine and vineyard theme. Wine has an ancient history with weddings and other special occasions and is also an interesting and fun theme. So here are some suggestions for great wine themed wedding favors.
Stationary is always a staple for wedding favors but you can give them a twist with a grape or wine theme. You can give notebooks, planners, and even personal calendars that have images of your favorite wines or pictures of a favorite vineyard that you might have visited with the groom for a weekend getaway. This is something that conveys a personal touch and will be useful to your guests in their daily lives. Every time they use your present they will be reminded of the excellent time they had celebrating your nuptials.
Another interesting choice is a refrigerator magnet. The best thing about this item is that it can be found in any shape you like. You can buy magnets for example, shaped like various types of grapes used to make wines. You can also get some that shaped like famous vintages and types of wine. You can also go for something with a dual purpose like a magnet picture frame. This way you can add a more personal touch with a picture of you and the groom. If you are going to give magnets as favors try to pair with something else. A great item to pair a magnet with is chips bag clip. This useful item is used to seal an unfinished bag of chips or some other bagged snack that cannot be resealed.
Another great option is to find a favor that combines the wine motif with a precious metal like silver. For example you will get a better reaction for a themed picture frame if it is in sterling silver. It adds class and sophistication to any gift and make them that more desirable to your guests. Another good idea is silver keepsake box with grapes or wine bottles on them. Keepsake boxes have a great use keeping jewellery or important souvenirs and will be greatly liked by your female guest.
A common favor item is wine tools. These are bottle openers and stops that can be used practically for wine in traditional bottles. These are great because they are certain to be used and come in stylish designs that fit your themes needs. You can find a very large selection on the internet for very reasonable prices. As a useful gift they are definitely popular as wedding favors regardless of the theme.
A great general suggestion is to use your favors to promote a cause. If there is a local or organic vineyard you want to support, try using some of their merchandise as wedding favors to help promote their business.

Wedding etiquette if described in short is the practices and forms prescribed by social convention or by authority to make your wedding day flawless. Wedding etiquette is a very important part of planning a wedding. This article aims to give an overview on the basics of wedding etiquette which are followed by most weddings.
Starting from the sending of the invitation cards, all guests should give a reply back to the sender on the confirmation of their attendance. Hosts should do a follow-up on the guests confirmation if there are guests who haven’t replied yet.
If an invited guest is married, engaged or living with a significant other, that partner must be included in the invitation. Otherwise, inner envelopes may include “And Guest,” indicating that he or she may bring any chosen escort or friend.
A receiving line is formed to greet the guests individually as they arrive. For smaller functions it is not unusual for the bride and groom to welcome guests themselves. The ushers can be utilised to direct arriving guests to their table and help any who are having difficulty finding their seat.
When it comes to deciding seats for the family and guests of both the bride and groom, usually the etiquette is to put the groom’s on the right and bride’s on the left. Other than using ushers, providing a table plan will be a good idea to guide guests finding their seats.
The wedding speech should be started by the father of the bride with the groom following next. Commonly done, the father of the bride will be the one to welcome all guests to the ceremony. In the meantime, the bridegroom’s duty is to thank his new in-laws for the wonderful reception.
It is a wedding etiquette when the bridal couple opens then dance floor to the guests but it is tradition for father and daughter having their customary dance. The hosts must be aware of things which are traditions and which are wedding etiquette. Unlike wedding etiquette, there are no specific rules for traditions.

Bridesmaid gifts are an expression of thanks from a bride to her bridesmaids and her maid of honor and doing this for them is one of your biggest responsibilities. These are the important women in your life that you choose to stand with you on your wedding day and more. These women are also the good friends and family that helped you with planning every step of the way even setting up important events like your bridal shower and the bachelorette party. Even more than the wedding favors you will give your guests you have to give them something substantial that can communicate just a fraction of the gratitude you feel. If you are the bride that has chosen to go with the fall theme use it to show your thanks for all the help they gave you with making it a success by giving them bridesmaids gifts that are a subtle reminder of what you achieved. Here are some great ideas to get you started.
A great idea is to give passes to a mountain retreat. For everyone involved in planning a wedding it can seem that the event is as much a job as a celebration and with the added insult of no honeymoon for the bridesmaids to recoup with. If your budget can handle it sending your gal pals to a mountain retreat or spa is a great gift idea. A day of pampering in a rustic setting will have them singing your praises long after you lose the newlywed label. A creative way to present them is to get gift certificate and vouchers and wrap them in fall themed paper or put them in fall themed gift boxes for added impact.
If you can’t afford to send them to the spa why not bring a little bit of the spa back to them with fall themed bath sets. Give them a set of products that will make them feel like they are getting the resort treatment with every bath they take. To further remind them of your wedding get autumn oriented scented bubble bath, bath oils, and soap that will not only soothe their worries away, but make each and every one of them feel like a queen.
A great suggestion is jewellery. Give a gift that is lasting and will be a memento every time they wear it. A great idea is charm bracelets with fall leaves and other motifs for the charms. You can also go with simple gold necklaces with colored or tinted gold in the shape fall leaves. Use your imagination to find inspired jewellery choices that match the tastes of your bridesmaids. To make the presents more special get your gift engraved with a special message of thanks to commemorate the special time you shared on your wedding day. This will make them keepsakes that last a lifetime.
You can also never go wrong with beauty kits or manicure sets. Give high end gifts that are of actual use to your bridesmaids and customize them to match the theme of the ceremony. Every time they pluck an eyebrow or go through their daily routine they will be reminded of you and think back on your special day. In the end as long as you put thought and effort into your gifts they will be cherished by your bridesmaid and will only strengthen the strong bonds and relationships you have with them.

The spring season is one where beginnings are born whether it is the growth of new plants, the reawakening of old one, or the birth of new animals. This season is also the beginning of the busiest months for marriage ceremonies. Harness the full benefits of the season with its dewy promise and extensive supply of spring plants and motifs as you plan your spring ceremony. If you are a newbie and have no wedding planning experience as either a bride or bridesmaid, this article is especially for you. Here are some great tips and ideas to help you plan your spring ceremony.
The first thing you need to think about when planning your ceremony is the location and the venue. Will you have the event outside or inside? This is very important as it will dictate everything from seating and timing to what type of decorations you can use. If you choose an outdoor location there are several considerations that come into play. First, you need to check the weather forecast. Is it feasible to do it outdoors? If it rains do you have a back up locations or adequate sheltered seating for the guests in case of a spring shower? There is also where outside that you choose. A popular location is a public garden or you can have it at an estate rented for the occasion. For decoration you will normally use floral decorations and arrangement to mark where the altar will be. In doors you will still use floral arrangements but you can also use other decorations like birds and other spring animals.
The next consideration is the bridesmaids’ dresses. The season gives you a wide color selection to choose from; however the custom is to normally choose pale or pastel colors. It is important to take into account your bridesmaids’ natural coloring. While you don’t want them to overshadow your dress, you don’t want them to look bad. Again the wide color selection also gives you the opportunity to vary the color selection between dresses but only do so if using one color is detrimental to the coloring your bridesmaids.
The grooms are the next focus of your planning for the ceremony. Make sure they like their female counterparts choose appropriate colors. For them this will be their ties, vest, and boutonnires. It would probably be a good idea to use the same type of flower for the boutonnires. You can also have the groom himself dress according to seasonal theme.
Last of all, there are the design ideas for the flower girl and the ring bearer. For the flower girl the same idea generally applies that you used for the bridesmaids’ dresses. Pick something that is a pastel or spring color. Some great touches are to have her wear a wreath of spring blossoms and use flower petals in a basket or a small bouquet. For a more adorable book try dressing as a flower fairy with wings. For the ring bearer keep it simple. A tuxedo with a pastel colored vest or a suit completely in a pastel shade of your choosing. As for the ring pillow there are many options to choose from. You can go with a plain pillow in spring colors or go for one with embroidered floral designs. The choice is yours.

Every bride dreams of her perfect wedding. What constitutes perfect varies from person to person and can come in as many variations as there are brides saying “I do” every year. However all brides have one thing in common, they want a ceremony that is unique and specially tailored for them. As a bride it is your biggest moment and you want it to bear your personal stamp in every way possible. This makes details important and establishes why you would want to have unique wedding favors. Unique favors are an excellent method of making an otherwise ordinary marriage ceremony extraordinary by adding your own personal touch.
So, what’s the big fuss about having unique favors for your guests? Well, a special ceremony is as much about the details as it is about the marriage itself. That is because the ritual normally involves a lot of symbolism. From the white dress to the old adage of a bride needing “something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue.” A memorable wedding will have a lot of symbolism that is not only meaningful to the happy couple but also their friends and family. So what are the things to think about when picking party gifts that are fitted to your needs.
First think about the overall theme of your ceremony. This is a great way to personalize the event and put your own personal tastes to full use. A helpful hint can be how you and your future spouse met, a favorite destination, or your special song. Finding the right accents will best reflect who you are as a couple reflecting your shared values.
Another thing is to keep it simple and understandable. A wedding favor that is supposed to represent a series of impressionist art at a certain museum where you met will not be easily understood by your guests. Pick something that either has an image of a museum or a well known piece of art. Simple is better at conveying the special meanings in your marriage ceremony.
The next thing is to be considerate of cost. Symbolism doesn’t have to be expensive. As a matter of fact it can be very easy to get the most bang for your buck which is what you always want to do. To use the same example you don’t have to get a favor with the exact image of the museum where you met or the exact piece of art unless you are willing to pay the cash. By using more simplistic images you save money as well as make it easier for your guest to get the theme of your marital celebration.
The final consideration is to make it something practical. Unique does not have to mean useless. A wedding favor with a specialized design can be more memorable if its something the guest will use well after the wedding is over. A good example can be found in African weddings. In countries like Nigeria its normally common practice to give away cups, bowls, or other items monogrammed with the image and names of the happy couple. You don’t have to go that far but it is definitely some thing to keep in mind when you are choosing the special items that you will give at your event.
In the end a unique wedding favor doesn’t have to be over the top, it is something simple that will be only special to you. That is what will make it special and, by extension, your entire wedding will be extraordinary and memorable.

Winter is a special time of year when many significant and important holidays are celebrated by peoples of many faiths. It is also a time when family and friends gather together and enjoy each other’s company. This is why this season is perfect in a unique and special way for wedding ceremony. The act of marriage has significant religious connotations in many faiths just like holidays celebrated during the winter months. It also is a time when family and friends come together to celebrate an important event. So take advantage of the benefits this season offers while planning your ceremony. If you feel daunted by the challenge of planning a wedding long after the peak months of spring and summer, don’t fret. Here are some great tips and ideas to guide your efforts as you plan your winter ceremony.
When planning for the main ceremony always start with the venue itself. Due to the season it is most likely an indoor affair. Take advantage of the season by having the event at your religious house of worship such as a church or synagogue. Try to use wintry and holiday themed decorations when decorating the halls. If you want to use a lot of decorations without making the hall or sanctuary look like it is being prepared for a holiday service, go for wintry decorations like icicles, snowflakes and blue and white Christmas lights. This will give the hall a cool, solemn, and ethereal glow. A great design motif is a winter’s night. Try using twinkle lights on the ceiling to simulate a cold winter night sky. Of course use adequate lighting so that everyone can perform their proper duties safely and properly as the ceremony progresses.
In the case of your bridesmaids, make sure their dresses are in keeping with the wintry theme. The colors to look are either gray, icy blue, or if you can dare to risk it miming your wedding dress, white. An important thing to remember is to make sure that the dresses are as flattering on your bridal party as fashionably and properly possible. Of course, make sure to either use one or two colors for all the dresses.
For the groomsmen, advise them to follow the same color scheme when choosing the vests and ties for their tuxedoes. In the case of winter it is better if you choose one color for all the groomsmen’s suits. Another great idea is to use white or blue flowers for the lapel decorations.
The last thing to consider about your ceremony is the looks of your flower girl or ring bearer. The important thing is that both their clothes match your seasonal theme. A great suggestion is that you can use your imagination with the little flower girl’s dress. Once again keep in mind winter colors when advising her parents about her costume. Also try suggesting a fantastical look like a winter sprite. A great suggestion in pulling this look is to give her wreath made of paper snowflakes and giving her a basket full of the same rather than traditional petals. For the ring bearer, dress him in a tuxedo similar to the groomsmen’s tuxedoes. You can also try for something more adorable like a powder blue tux. Also make sure the ring pillow is in accordance with the winter theme.
