We all know that the main course of the mean is why we go to the restaurant, but it is the dessert that everybody loves the most. The same can be said of the wedding and the reception. Yes, the wedding is what the bride dreams about her whole life, but when it really comes down to it, your reception is what all your guests are really looking forward to. With the music, great food, and the cake, who doesn’t love a well put together reception. So I have some ideas that I know you will love based on the four seasons.
Let us start by looking at spring. In movies it is often depicted that spring is the ultimate time to get married. With all the birds and the bees, can you blame them? This is the season for sweet, delicate flowers; if you are a real girly girl you could not pick a better time of year. You can just picture the flower girl with her little wicker basket throwing pink rose petals. Spring weddings are best set mid-afternoon. If you want a unique wedding favor go for the take home organic papers infused with seeds that once planted will sprout with pretty wild flowers.
Now we move on to summer. Nothing is more magical than saying “I do” on the beach at sunset in the summer. This is a great time for a destination wedding to the beach. Keep your day vibrant and lively by choosing colors that are reminiscent of tropical flowers. When planning the meal make sure you offer lots of tropical fruits; if you are serving alcohol, have your caterer create a cocktail for you from your favorite fruit. Pick a wedding favor that is straight from the island, maybe something with sand and shells.
If you are a natural woman who is into the environment you may want to consider an autumn wedding. This is the best time to pick colors that are mild, soothing, and neutral. Of course you could opt for the deep rich colors of the season too; eggplant, olive green, and chocolate brown are all perfect colors to play with for an autumn wedding. Keep decorations and favors earthy and natural, maybe even a bit rustic. Getting married at a lodge that offers skiing is a fun way to celebrate your big day along side your guests.
Last, but certainly not least, the second most popular time of the year to get married, winter! As with autumn, planning your wedding at a lodge is a fabulous idea. This is the perfect destination wedding spot. You can start your honeymoon by hitting the slopes by day and snuggling up close, with a mug of hot cocoa, in front of a roaring fire by night. Embrace the holiday season by adding a touch of Christmas to your day. You don’t have to go overboard with all the red and green, but using a few potted pines for decorations really adds a nice touch to the atmosphere.
Weddings are fun no matter what time of year it is, but there is something to be said for matching your wedding theme with the season. You want there to be a seamless and cohesive feeling between the outside and what’s happening inside with your wedding.

There is nothing cheap about putting together a wedding. What should be one of the best times in your life can be a complete nightmare when you try to balance your budget with your dreams. There is no day in a woman’s life that she dreams of more than her wedding; shouldn’t she should be able to make it all come true without breaking the bank? That is why I have come up with a few helpful tips on things you can do to save money.
One of the first things I did when I started to plan my wedding was grab a piece of paper, a pen, and my fianc to sit down and brainstorm about all the things we’d love to see and have at our wedding. There was nothing structured about it; we scribbled notes all over the piece of paper, it was just a brainstorm. We wrote down anything and everything that came to mind. About an hour later we took a long look at what we had come up with, really talking about each thing. We broke everything down into 3 groups; things we had to have, things we really wanted, and things that would be fun, but not needed. This helped us to focus on the important things and not waste a bunch of money on things we could do without.
Pick one or two big-ticket items. Ever woman has that part of the wedding that she will spare no expense for. It could be (and usually is) the dress, photographer, DJ, the wedding cake, or any other thing. Decide what these items are for you so that you can plan your budget accordingly; all other areas are where you will cut costs.
If at all possible, having your wedding and reception in the same place is a great way to save a lot of money. There is no reason to pay for two buildings. If you are a member of a church, often you can use the building for free and only pay cleaning costs. If not, finding a venue where you can rent two adjoining rooms will often give you a huge discount on the rental fees. This also saves your out of town guests a lot of hassle and stress trying to find and get to the second location.
Lastly, you’ll want to make sure you have wedding favors for all your guests, but these can be really pricey. Instead of looking in stores for your favors, there are a ton of great resources online for really unique wedding favors that won’t break the bank. Shopping online for these allows you to be able to compare products and prices, and saves you time and money. You want to make sure that your favor says something about you as a couple and your wedding. If you are having a wedding in December you may want to buy some Christmas bulbs and have your name and wedding date put on them; you would be shocked to see how much you can save by buying a favor like that on line compared to what you would pay in a store.
I really hope I have been able to help you in finding ways to cut some of the cost out of your wedding. I know how tempting it can be to go overboard of such a special day, but you will feel much better afterwords if you can avoid spending your entire life savings. Good luck to you and your future spouse.

This fall, brides everywhere are looking for innovative ideas to incorporate into their weddings. They want to find decorations, menus, and gifts that will help make their special day all the more unique and unforgettable for everyone that attends. This can be a monolithic task and it requires not only the planning of the bride, but the cooperation of the families of the bride and groom and friends participating in the wedding to pull it off. One of the key things a bride needs to focus on are unique wedding favors. These are gifts to thank guests for coming to the wedding and also souvenirs to remind them of the good time they had. If a bride uses the Fall season as a theme it becomes all the more important to find unique items that are great gifts and also represent the theme effectively so to constantly remind guest of the wedding long after the vows have been exchanged. If you are one those brides looking to have an exceptional fall wedding, here are some great ideas for unique fall wedding favors.
The first thing to decide is what type of Fall theme you want to have your gifts and ceremony based on. Fall has many different aspects to it so it is difficult to have a generic fall theme. For this reason many brides try to focus on one or two characteristics of autumn for their themes. Here are examples of some of them. There is the nature theme which focuses on the natural beauty of the fall season. This focuses on the changes plants and animals go through with the autumn season. Another aspect is the harvest theme. This focuses on the human side of fall with motifs of farms gathering in the ripe fruit and vegetables that fall provides. There are also themes linked with Autumn holidays such as Halloween and Thanksgiving. Deciding upon a fall theme helps to narrow down the favor choices for a bride so that she can focus on effective types of presents to give to her guests.
It is also important to choose gifts that will have some use for your guests. This is important because many traditional wedding favors are mostly temporary items that will be shortly tossed aside as garbage or junk except by the most dedicated collectors. Some great options are bath sets, grooming, kits, photo frames, and personalized cups and water bottles. The point is that a gift that can be used regularly is likely to be kept and if it is, it will be a constant reminder of the great time they enjoyed at the wedding.
A great tip for choosing fall wedding favors is to find new interpretations of traditional motifs. A great example are wine bottle stoppers. They traditional bottle stopper would probably have a carved leaf or apple at the end. However there are more novel bottle stoppers that are made of copper and have a 3 cutout of a leaf. The design is innovative blends perfectly with any fall theme. The same can found when looking for traditional favor items like figurines, picture frames, or even edible favors
Presentation is also key. Try to find great looking favor boxes that will be sure to be enjoyed by the guests. Try to find containers that match the fall motif in interesting ways. If you choose properly the containers themselves will be cherished as great mementos of your special day.

This winter many brides will be looking for unique ways to set their weddings apart from the countless others this season. One way to do so is with unique decorations for your ceremony and your reception. Decoration can transform a venue into your perfect vision for your wedding. As you decide to make your dream ceremony a reality here are some ideas to help you as you decide what you the theme for your ceremony and reception.
Look for a theme that best conveys who you and your groom are. This day is about expressing your love for each other and what you each cherish and value. To do this you will need to choose an idea to guide your decorations that conveys these important ideas about yourself for your guests. The more of you is evident in your choice of theme the more effective it will be. If you are using a winter theme choose something you like about winter. It can be a particular place, a holiday, or even an activity.
To find unique themes look to local influences in your area. Each place has its own unique characteristics and winter in one area is definitely going to look different from winter in another area. However don’t try to reproduce your area in its entirety. Look for distinctive features that will stand out. For example if you live in Colorado you might want to base your decorations on winter in the mountain using images of snow clad slopes and peak and scenes of Denver surrounds by mountains. Use your own discretion and imagination to guide your choices.
Look for modern interpretations of popular themes in your decorations. The challenge with themes such as winter or Christmas is that they have invariably been done before by other brides. This can make it hard to do something fresh. So when you look for decorations a good idea is to not look for decorations based on common motifs with their traditional forms. Look for items that present them in a unique and original way. For example instead of using a decoration in the shaped of a traditional snowflake you can use one that has snowflakes made of hearts or other interesting shapes. Looking for a fresh artistic perspective can breathe new life into the theme of your dcor.
Keep it clean and elegant when decorating for your ceremony. The ceremony is the most solemn party of your wedding. It is when you exchange the sacred vows of matrimony with your groom so the venue where you do that will have a completely different atmosphere from that of your reception hall. Go with elegant and simple decorations that give an impression of sophistication. A great suggestion is to evenly space out decorations for a balanced and clean look.
For your reception hall you are dealing with a venue that is focused solely on celebrating your wedding. So look for festive and interesting shapes. Winter provides a limited color scheme but make use of the few bold colors where possible. If you are focusing on a monochrome color scheme then make up for the lack of color with innovative and uniquely shaped decorations. Use form rather than color to catch the attention of your guests in all your decorations from streamers to the table centerpieces.

This winter, the goal of many brides is to set their wedding apart. Different brides will try different things. Some will try to obtain a one of a kind cake for their reception. Others will try decorating their ceremony and reception to look like winter wonderlands. Others will focus on the accents and the most direct way to add a finishing touch to your winter wedding is with winter wedding favors. Each is a lovely item that a bride gives to thank guest for attending her wedding. There are many items that a bride can choose from but one of the most endearing and classical are candle wedding favors. Candles have a special significance when it comes to winter especially with holidays like Christmas and Hanukkah. However they can often be overlooked. However, keep an open mind. There are more to candles than you think, and they can be quite versatile gifts that can impress your guests. Here are some varieties that you can think of using as gifts at your nuptials.
Novelty candles are great because they are unusual and eye catching. They can make a bold statement that other candles may not be able to make. They are often made of special materials or come in interesting shapes and designs. If you can pick the right item, these candles can be quite breathtaking for your guests. An excellent example is Snowflake Gel Candles. Each of these is made of a special gel wax and has a single silver snowflake set in the middle. As you can imagine, these look spectacular and your guests will be glad to receive such a singular gift. You can also give Snowflake shaped candles. Your guests can use them as decorations as the holidays approach.
Scented candles are a variety that has been growing in popularity even outside of weddings. They come in delicious fragrances that can change the entire atmosphere of your guest’s home. For a winter themed wedding, try to get seasonal scents such as cinnamon, peppermint, and ginger. These are also quite affordable and you can find varieties that come in their own lovely candleholders that can help hold and prolong the fragrance of your candles. These will be very popular with your female guests and can also be paired with other related aromatherapy items such as bath salts.
Another great type of candle is votive candles these are candles that come in glass containers with pictures painted on them. They can range from the religious candles most people are familiar with to secular ones that have lovely winter season or snowflake motifs. They are perfect for the winter season because they can be used for both winter themes and holiday themes. They are also durable. Even long after they are used the containers can be kept for their decorative quality
You can also use personalized candles. These are great choices because they can be easily customized, and they also give a personal touch. Rather than just giving a generic gift you can give something to your guests that personally convey your thanks with their name and a short message of gratitude. Personalization can also be used for a wide selection of candles. This allows you to combine several great features into one amazing candle that your guests will be sure to appreciate.

This winter the new trend is offseason weddings. These are ceremonies and receptions held well after the peak months of the wedding season in spring and summer. This has many advantages. For one, brides will be able to choose from a wider selection of indoor venues for cheaper prices. Many of the other decorations and wedding planning materials will also be much more affordable. They have the added advantage of the beauty of the major holiday season as a backdrop. Many people would be quick to point out the downside such as a smaller selection of flowers and no outdoor locations. However these are almost inconsequential. The best part of a winter themed wedding are the favors. When the choices are well thought out it can be a second Christmas for guests. Here are some great ideas to help you choose items and favors for your winter wedding favors.
Place card holders are normally the items that help guide attendees to their seating at the reception that occurs after you exchange vows with your future husband. However, they can also be great wedding favors. A great suggestion is to make the wedding favors pop with motifs of winter or holiday flowers such as Poinsettias. You can use placecards that invoke the imagery of winter with bucolic winter seasons or beautiful snowflake designs. A well designed place card holder can acts as an additional guest gift along with the wedding favors that you are already giving out.
Candles are great winter guest gifts. They not only provide light and warmth but they can also be personalized and customized to give your guests something amazing and extraordinary. A perfect example is snowflake gel candles. These items are made of a special clear gel wax which will refract candle light in amazing ways. In addition the center of each candle has a beautiful snowflake suspending looking like a trued snow flake caught in the moment of its descent through the skies.
Wine bottle sets are another great option. Everyone needs utensils to open and seal bottles of wine on important occasions. Theme wine bottle sets are great because they are a combination of functionality and design. A great example is the snowflake bottle openers and bottle stoppers. They will not only do their assigned tasks admirably, but also make a great conversation and give your guests in future settings to reminisce over your wonderful winter wedding.
Edible favors are another great way to go. The winter season has a variety of special sweets and foods that your guests will be sure to enjoy. For example you can give themed candies and chocolates as a sweet accent on your special day. You can also go with mixes of traditional and popular winter hot drinks such as tea, coffee, hot cocoa and even apple cider. These are great items to give because they provide something that teases the senses with their smell and taste. They can also be personalized whether it is the shape of a cookie or the design of the packet or teabag.
Finally, there are spa gifts. These are simple and affordable items that are reproductions of popular items that guest will normally enjoy at a spa. One great example are snow cone bath salts. They are quite cost friendly and still can help make bath time a relaxing and soothing moment for your guests.
