A Gay Travel Guide For Spain

Friday, February 5th, 2010

Spain is among the first countries in the world to allow same-sex couples to freely enjoy the legal rights of marriage, to adopt children openly and to be treated as equals on a level that the American LGBT community is still struggling to achieve. So it is a great country for gay vacations. Because of this wide acceptance and legal equality, Spain is among the top choices for safe, enjoyable gay vacations. From the sexually-charged scene in Madrid, to the higher-brow LGBT culture of Sitges, there is a thriving community in every major city and many of the smaller towns throughout this country that offers breathtaking scenery, stunning architecture, rich culture and history, and wonderful year-round weather that makes any time a good time for gay vacations to Spain.

Welcoming islands, cities and towns that should not be missed include Barcelona, Benidorm, Gran Canaria, Ibiza, Sitges, Valencia and Torremolinos, which are the most popular destinations for a gay vacation in Spain. Most of these hotspots offer excellent beaches and all offer exciting nightlife and a visible community. While Madrid is the place to be for anyone looking for a raucous LGBT scene, Ibiza and Gran Canaria offer a more laidback beach lifestyle and Valencia and Torremolinos offer a good mix of bars and beaches.

One of the most welcoming cities in Spain is Barcelona, which boasts amazing architecture, art and culture and is home to more clubs, bars, restaurants, bathhouses and other community establishments than any traveler could fit into their gay trips. Visitors will surely want to visit LEixample, where most of the community bars and businesses are located, as well as the fabulous beaches located around this city that boasts a very active, very visible community. Barcelona is a cosmopolitan city that has earned its rank among the most welcoming, most out places in Europe and also makes a great home base for side trips to other areas that are popular with LGBT locals and visitors, such as the beach town of Sitges.

To make the most of your gay single travel, consider traveling to Spain as part of an organized gay travel tour group, which will allow you to explore this fascinating country and all that it has to offer while making new friends and sharing your experiences with like-minded tourists.

If you prefer to explore alone, or with your partner or a small group friends, consider arranging your trip through a professional travel agency that is accustomed to organizing gay tours to Spain. This will help ensure that you have a great travel experience that is safe and enjoyable.

Cheap Holidays in Cuba

Monday, December 21st, 2009

Probably you have been searching for some cheap Cuba holidays options already and you have not been very lucky. I intend to give you some tips on how to safe money before you book you package holidays to Cuba.

One element that increases the cost of a holiday package is definitely the transportation. When you want to visit few locations cause you want to get to know the real Cuba. Most travel agents out there will use taxi transfers in their quotes and when you hear the price then you start thinking maybe is best if I stick to 1 or 2 places to make it cheap.

My advice in this regard if you want to safe hundreds is to use VIAZUL Bus Company. Viazul has terminal in most of the Cuban provinces and the tickets are really cheap compared to taxi drives.

For the sake of comparing let’s take for instance a taxi transfer from Havana to Trinidad. This is a common combination that most tailor made tour operators use on their packages. A taxi from Havana to Trinidad costs around 150 GBP or 200 CUC and a ticket with Viazul cost just 25 CUC.

As you can appreciate the difference is huge. When you want to visit places like Havana, Pinar del Rio, Cienfuegos, Trinidad or Santiago de Cuba only in taxi transfers you could be paying well over 800 CUC. Viazul will safe you around 80 % of that amount.

Viazul has an excellent service. Their coaches are new and very comfortable. They come with WC, air conditioning and catering for long journeys.

Maybe you are one of those thinking of travelling around Cuba but don’t have a clue about distances and how large Cuba really is. When you look at the Mapa Mundi this island looks small compared to America but it actually stretches for more than 1200 Km from east to west.

Viazul although is very cheap compared to taxis it is a bit more uncomfortable. You will have to get a taxi from your hotel to the station and then get on the bus that will take you to your destination. As you can see it is not as comfortable as waiting for a taxi to take you to your next destination but is worth doing it if money is an issue.

Before you travel to cuba make sure to search for various options on cheap Cuba holidays.

Gay Tourism Guide: Hot Spots to Travel in Mexico

Thursday, September 10th, 2009

When people think of Mexico they tend to think of this country as traditional, macho and Catholic. Nothing is further from the truth. Just like everywhere else there are places where there is homosexuality in Mexico.

In fact, the state of Coahuila and Mexico City itself have legalized civil unions for gay and lesbian couples, with Michoacan, Veracruz, Puebla, Guerrero, Colima and Jalisco being well on their way to doing the same.

Despite the impression people have of Mexico as a conservative and religious nation, in some regards it leads its neighbors. However, many Mexican gays and lesbians are not out about their sexuality. Even though homosexuality is largely accepted in Mexico, a lot of gays and lesbians in Mexico would rather not proclaim their sexual preferences to the world.

One cultural difference between the US and Mexico is that Mexicans generally keep their private lives a little more private than we tend to in our country. However, Mexico is a very welcoming place for gay travelers, which led Planetout out to name Mexico as their 2007 travel destination of the year.

So, let’s take a look at the Mexico’s top gay destinations.

Cancun. On top of the list is Cancun. Is the newest hot spot for gay visitors. Traditionally it was Acapulco, or Puerto Vallarta. This even though it has an image that it is a place for straight people on Spring Beak.

Situated in the Yucatan Peninsula state of Quintana Roo, the city has a subtropical climate with average temperatures averaging between 81 and 95 degrees. Downtown Cancun is home to a lot of gay nightlife and is located only fifteen minutes from the Hotel Zone.

Cancun’s oldest and most popular gay club is the Karamba. For more than 30 years, this club has been packing its dance floor with a lively throng which includes many international tourists as well as locals. The Picante is also worth a visit. A little smaller than the Karamba, this club draws a mixed crowd of gays and straights, tourists and locals, transvestites and really, everyone.

Unofficially the gay beach is the Playa Delfines. It has the longest and widest beach. The Villas Tacul is geared towards homosexuals. There appears to be about hundreds of gay-friendly hotels to choose from.

Mexico City. As Mexico’s largest city (and in fact, Mexico City is even larger than New York City), Mexico City has a large gay and lesbian community and has even legalized same sex civil unions. Mexico City offers a lot of gay nightlife and culture, with many gay clubs, including a few dozen in the Zona Rosa alone. There are gay theater groups and an annual Gay Pride Parade.

Guadalajara. Mexico’s second city also has a large gay and lesbian population and is a great place for gay tourists to visit. Cultural amenities here include a popular gay radio show, a gay cultural center and a more atmosphere about homosexuality than seen in many other Mexican cities. Guadalajara has a particularly large lesbian population.

There is a long list of gay bars and clubs. But here is just a couple. The Angel’s bar that plays electronica. Monica’s Disco plays Latin rhythm disco. To locate other clubs and bars for a bit of nightlife look for La Guia Rosa or Zona Gay.

We really know the significance of your presence. You will find the best attendance, fun, entertainment and all your needs in this event. We have structured a perfectly-done plan covering all elements of your attendance’s main objective: to enjoy this unforgettable Latin Hot Party experience! Without a doubt these will be your best lesbian vacations.
